Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Salon Suite?
It’s a completely self-contained mini salon inside Salon Republic! It’s sort of like an apartment building, but for beauty. I’m completely independent, SR is just my landlord.
What’s the best way to make an appointment?
The best and fastest way to make an appointment is to use my Online Booking system. If you run into issues or have trouble booking, then feel free to shoot me a text or email and I’ll do my best to help out!
I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment. Is there a fee?
Possibly. Any appointment cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours notice will be subject to a fee of 50% of the service cost and/or may require a deposit to rebook. Any appointment cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours notice will be subject to a fee of 50% of the service cost and/or may require a deposit to rebook. I understand that illnesses and emergencies happen and will be applying this policy with discretion, but please give me as much notice as possible when you need to cancel or reschedule for any reason.
Are you located in the Mall? Where do I park?
Yes! Salon Republic is attached to the Burbank Town Center Mall. The best place to park is on the 4TH Level of the EAST GARAGE (on 3rd st between Magnolia and Cypress). Enter through the MALL ENTRANCE to the right of the Burlington Coat Factory and you’ll see SR right in front of you. SR also has a street entrance on Magnolia (above Five Guys) if you would prefer to avoid the mall.
My preferred appointment time isn’t available. Can I get on a Wait List?
Yes! You can add yourself to my Wait List for your preferred days/times inside of my Online Booking system. If something becomes available, it’ll alert me and I’ll be in touch to get you booked! Please don’t ask me to “let you know if something sooner opens up.” My little scatterbrain can’t handle it!
What if I’m running late?
Call or text me to let me know ASAP! I’ll do my best to accommodate, but if you’re more than 15 minutes late I may have to reschedule and charge a fee. I understand that sometimes it’s unavoidable, but even being a few minutes late can throw a wrench in my whole day.
Why isn’t there “Men’s Cut” or “Women’s Cut” option on your menu? Which one do I pick?
My service menu isn’t gendered because hair doesn’t have a gender! My pricing is based on the amount of time and expertise required to achieve your desired look, not your gender identity. You should pick the haircut option based on the length of hair you’ll be coming in with, not the length will be cutting to. For instance, if you have hair below your underarms, but would like to cut your hair to your chin then “Long/Thick Haircut” is the option you should pick. If your hair is Curly or Wavy and you would like a cut and style to bring out your curls or waves then you should choose a Curly Cut option.
Is my hair curly enough for a Curly Cut? Which one do I book?
Probably! If want a cut/style/service that will enhance your hair’s natural texture (wave, curl, coil…whatever!) and do NOT want to leave with a Blow Out, then you need a Curly Cut. If it is your first time booking a Curly Cut with me (even if you’ve had one elsewhere), if it has been more than 6 months since your last Curly Cut with me, or if you just think your Curls need a bit more love then the “Enhanced Curly Cut” is what you should choose. If we’ve done a cut within the last 6 months and you’re just looking for a quick trim and style, then “Curly Maintenance Cut” is the right option for you.
I’ve got to be somewhere right after my appointment! Can you get me out by a certain time?
I’ll do my best, but I can’t make any promises. The amount of time your appointment should take is listed on my Service Menu and in my Online Booking system, but even those are approximate.
Can you cut my kid’s hair?
I don’t work on anyone under the age of 12.
I’m feeling crazy! Can we do some fun colors in my hair?
I don’t offer “Fantasy Color” (crayon colors, pastels, unicorn hair, etc, etc) services. Those services are not within my area of expertise, but I can refer you to someone who is AMAZING.
How should I prep my hair for my Curly Cut?
Please arrive with your hair down, dry, and curly for your service. If your curls are stretched out from a ponytail or braids, straightened, or wet it makes it incredibly hard for me to see your hair’s natural texture and give you an awesome cut! Also, if your hair is overly tangly, please detangle and reset your curls prior to your appointment.
Do I need to wear a mask during my appointment?
Only if it will make you feel more comfortable! I am no longer requiring masks in the studio, but if you’d feel more comfortable wearing one you are welcome to do so. I am also happy to wear a mask if you would prefer. Your comfort and safety are the most important things to me!
