About me
I love creating a customized combination of cut, color, and style for each of my clients so that they leave my chair feeling like the best possible version of themselves. I am a certified Deva Curl Stylist which means that I specialize in cutting and styling naturally curly hair, and it is just about my favorite thing! Whether it is curly, kinky, coily, wavy, or straight, I’ll use a variety of techniques to work with your hair’s natural texture and help it be its most amazing. I’m also a member of The Dresscode Project : a global alliance of salons and barbershops committed to providing positive, gender-affirming services for LGBTQ2S+ folks. My preferred pronouns are she/her, and I’d love for you to share yours with me!
I got my start working with hair in the Entertainment Industry, and I have a BFA in Technical Theatre from the University of Mississippi. I worked in Regional Theatre all over the country and in film/TV, but it was when I went to Cosmetology school at the Aveda Institute Los Angeles that I realized just how great being a Hair Stylist and salon life really is! I “retired” from entertainment years ago, but I am still fascinated by storytelling and enjoy working in the collaborative style of the Arts.
When I’m not at work, I try to play outside as much as possible! I’m an avid cyclist, and I’ve ridden my bike from San Francisco to LA three times with AIDS/Lifecycle. The cause is incredibly close to my heart, and creating a safe and comfortable space for my LGBTQ2S+ friends is very important to me. I also love listening to True Crime podcasts (SSDGM), trying out new restaurants around town, and snuggling with my sweet Persian cat, Gary.
